Description

Thunderball (1965) poster, US, Subway - 'Look Down'

Art by Robert E. McGinnis (b. 1926)

Unframed: 45 x 59 1/4 in. (114 x 150.5 cm)

The advertising department for the film's American release really went to town on their campaign. They created individual subway posters for use on the New York subway. Each poster has different artwork and a strong tagline - look up !, look down !, look out ! and look here !

This exceptionally rare subway poster does not surface very often, and is the rarest of all the subway posters.

This was the fourth in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, and starring Sean Connery. The film was directed by Terence Young, who had directed the first two Bond films. James Bond films are well known for their gadgets. This film is no exception with the introduction of Bond's Bell Rocket Belt (developed by Bell Aircraft Corporation).
