FROM SOUTH AFRICA TO THE INTERIOR OF ANTARCTICA

The journey starts with New Year’s Eve celebrations at the One&Only Cape Town under the iconic backdrop of Table Mountain, where guests will see in 2023 in style prior to being flown directly into the remote interior of Antarctica and land at the remote Antarctic ice runway of Wolf’s Fang.

Whichaway

Staying at our flagship luxury camp in Antarctica’s interior, our guests will visit a vast Emperor penguin colony before being flown to the lowest point on Earth - the Geographic South Pole.

Emperor penguin colony

Two hours flight in a Basler BT-67 from our main camp and you are at a colony of 28,000 birds. This is one of the greatest – and yet least observed – wildlife events on the planet.

South Pole expedition

The highlight of the adventure is a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the Geographic South Pole. Once the elusive goal of explorers such as Scott and Shackleton, the Pole is still exceptionally difficult to reach and represents a place where there is no more east, south or west – as the only direction is simply north!

DAILY ACTIVITIES

Once ensconced in Whichaway, White Desert’s newly relaunched eco-camp, guests, among many other exclusive activities, will explore 200m iridescent blue ice tunnels and marvel at a colony of over 28,000 emperor penguins and their chicks.

FROM PATAGONIA TO THE Antarctic Peninsula

After flying from Wolf’s Fang runway to the emerald rivers of the Torres del Paine in Patagonia and experiencing horseback rides with cowboys, mountain bike tours and glacier hikes, you will return to the extraordinary coastline of Antarctica to board the 77-metre luxury explorer yacht M/Y Legend and embark with Cookson Adventures on an incredible cruise expedition around the Antarctic Peninsula.

Experience the best of Antarctic Peninsula

Sailing south they will visit remote research stations, paddle alongside whales and ski entirely untouched routes. With both a helicopter and 3-seater submersible onboard, adventurers can take in the magnitude of Antarctica's icebergs from the sky or from deep underwater as penguins dive en masse and leopard seals forage for prey. They will also have the chance to meet with leading climate scientists and contribute to wildlife research as part of their extraordinary Antarctic experience.

"I'm spellbound by Antarctica every single time I arrive at its shores. For that reason, I'm excited to offer explorers this ultimate appreciation of the continent together with White Desert. It's also a privilege to explore onboard Legend once more. Her captain and crew share my enthusiasm to uncover much of what we still don't know about the Peninsula and its inhabitants." - Henry Cookson, CEO and founder of Cookson Adventures
